Rice to Hop Back in her 911 Next Weekend in Miami, Florida

Toronto, ON –

After only a short hiatus since the end of her racing season, Lindsay Rice returns to her race seat to compete in the FARA Miami 500 at Homestead Speedway.

Lindsay Rice and her crew will be taking the Rice Racing Porsche 911 to the famous NASCAR superspeedway for the first time ever, to compete in a four-hour endurance race.

This past season, Rice placed herself on the podium in her Porsche 911 seven times out of ten race starts with her team Rice Racing / Bestline Auto Tech. Lindsay and her team now join in with the FARA field for the first time in an effort to train in the Canadian off-season, with the mindset of maintaining a strict level of competitiveness in her car. FARA, also known as the Formula and Automobile Racing Association, runs multiple endurance races throughout the season at tracks like Sebring International Raceway and Daytona International Speedway. The Miami 500 is their largest event, bringing in over 20,000 race fans to the NASCAR circuit. Lindsay Rice is ecstatic for this new challenge, and talks to the news. "With it being the Canadian off-season, it's very important to continue to train. The Homestead FARA Miami 500 will not only be a way for me to train, but it is also bringing me into a whole new level of racing to hone in my skills on track. The superspeedway will have me hitting top speeds in my 911, and it is also a great quality to have more international experience. I am also very excited to have my team Bestline Auto Tech as mechanical support, and Italform Structures and Liqui Moly as my gold sponsors." The weekend will begin with a practice day on Friday, where Lindsay will learn the new circuit and test out her car. On Saturday, Lindsay will compete in two sprint races with the field, and finish the race weekend off on Sunday with a 4-hour long endurance race, also known as the Miami 500. During the FARA races, the Homestead Speedway circuit will be configured with an extension into the inner field. The inner circuit will then link back up to the superspeedway to complete the route for the 2016 FARA Miami 500, allowing for top speeds and a highly competitive setting.
