Lindsay Rice has Fantastic Weekend in Ottawa

(TORONTO, ON) Lindsay Rice, driver of the #18 Rice Racing Audi RS3 LMS, competed in the Kyle Nash Memorial Race in the running for the Race Ontario Championship this past weekend,

This was driver Lindsay Rice's first time at the Calabogie Motorsport Park track in Calabogie, Ontario, a well-known professional track located just outside of Ottawa, Ontario.

The #18 Rice Racing Audi RS3 LMS was classified in the GT3 category, competing in the GT Sprint races. Rice competed in two GT Sprint races over the course of the weekend, and managed to take home some good results.

Lindsay Rice began the weekend getting acquainted to the new track, and brought her times down quickly in her first practice sessions.

Despite her lack of experience at this specific race track, Lindsay Rice managed to get herself to P5 in class on the first race of the weekend. In this race, she advanced 8 spots from her qualifying position and set an all-time personal record in time.

In anticipation of the second race of the weekend, Rice felt ready for a strong qualifying session. However, due to issues with another car on track, Rice was only able to get in 3 laps in qualifying, placing herself 19th overall for the beginning of race two.

Rice managed to advance from 19th overall to 11th overall by the end of the 20 minute GT Sprint race, and clinched herself a P5 in GT3 class.

"What a weekend we had in the Audi RS3 LMS! I honestly can say that I have never felt more confident in this car, I am really learning it. We managed to increase our skills in the car over the weekend and continue to see great results. Although we hoped for a podium, I am happy leaving with two 5th places in class at a track I have never driven on before." Lindsay Rice states.

This is the first season that Rice has competed in the Audi RS3 LMS car. For 2018, the vehicle runs under Audi of Mississauga and Audi Brampton dealerships in the GTA. Lindsay Rice acts as a brand ambassador for the two dealers throughout the season.
