Lindsay Rice, pilot of the #18 Rice Racing Audi RS3 LMS, brings home a 2nd place in the BEMC Canadian Touring Trophy races this past weekend.
This was not only Lindsay Rice’s opener weekend for 2018, but this weekend was also the first time she would be driving the new Audi RS3 LMS TCR race car.

“The team and I are very happy that we were able to open the season with this event. The BEMC Touring Trophy is where I placed myself on the podium 4 times in my first ever weekend racing in 2016. I love coming back to this event, and especially now that we have this beautiful new car.” Rice explains, "The Audi RS3 is a worldwide homologated TCR-spec car, it is truly a piece of artwork. I am truly blessed that I have the opportunity to drive it this season. I'd like to thank my sponsors and my team for their hard work and for their trust in me as their driver!"
The Rice Racing team aimed to put a lot of focus on practicing and tuning the new race car to prepare it for the upcoming season. They entered the car into two categories of racing; the GT Sprints 20 minute races and the GT Challenge hour-long endurance race with pilot Lindsay Rice.
Rice successfully brought car home in 2nd place during the GT Challenge race on Saturday, after a hard-fought battle in the GT2 category. Earlier that day, Rice merely missed the podium in GT Sprints, taking home a strong 4th place in her category.

“I am super thrilled to be placing this car on the podium already. We brought it to the races this weekend with the goal to test and tune the car, so we entered it into the GT Challenge and GT Sprints categories to get as much seat time as possible. We took home a 2nd place in GT Challenge and a 4th place in GT Sprints. Couldn’t be happier!!! – and this really sets the stage for the remainder of the 2018 season!”. Lindsay Rice states.

Lindsay Rice is set to return to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park next weekend, May 17-19th, for the Victoria Day Speedfest. She will return with the Canadian Touring Car Championship in the GT Sport category amongst other TCR cars.
