Lindsay Rice and 2017 Partners to Show Strong Support at the 2017 Hot Rods for a Cause Event for Sic


(Toronto, 2017) Race car driver Lindsay Rice will support SickKids and Cops for Cancer in upcoming event with her team Rice Racing and her 2017 partners.

Lindsay Rice, the founder and CEO of Rice Racing, and the pilot of the #18 Rice Racing Porsche 911 race car, will be in attendance to the third annual Hot Rods for a Cause car and bike show with her 2017 partners this coming Sunday.

The fundraiser is an all-day car and bike show that takes place at Erin Mills Town Centre from 11am to 4pm this Sunday, August 20th. Participants of the event can enter in their cars and motorcycles to compete for the prize of best car in their category. The judging of the show runs from noon to 2pm, which is followed by prizes and award presentations.

“I am thrilled to announce our full involvement in this year’s Hot Rods for a Cause event.” Lindsay states, “Not only are we in attendance, but my sponsors and I are all supporting the charity event.”


Lindsay Rice has been competing this season with the support of her partners Total Canada, Obsidian Group, Inc., and Inroble International, Inc. They will will all be showing support at the event with gifts, giveaways and fundraising.

To compliment Lindsay’s involvement in the event, her 2017 partners, the well-known hospitality company Obsidian Group, Inc. will also be sponsors of the event. They will have three of their franchise chains on site, Union Burger, Crabby Joe’s, and Coffee Culture, who will provide food and coffee for the attendees and volunteers at the event.

“I am absolutely ecstatic to announce that my partner Obsidian Group has taken their involvement even further. They have announced another event at their nearby Crabby Joe’s franchise to support the SickKids and Cops for Cancer foundations.” Lindsay says with a smile. Obsidian Group has promised 50% of the days sales from their Crabby Joe’s Mississauga location will go to SickKids Hospital and Cops for Cancer in support of the Hot Rods event.


“I plan on moving from one charity event to the next – you can catch me and my race car at the Crabby Joe’s following the Hot Rods event!” Rice smiles. “It will be a perfect day.”

Lindsay Rice has made an effort to be a part of charitable causes and fundraisers throughout her racing career. As a three-time donator and participant of the Children’s Wish Wheels4Wishes event, supporter of the Rally for Kids event, and an ongoing philanthropist, Rice takes her time to support those in need.

“It is important to me to be a part of these types of events. If I can use my sport not only for fulfilling my passion, but to also support others it means much more to me.” Says Lindsay Rice. “I aim to follow after my grandmother and grandfather. They were always helping out in the community. My grandmother, Lois Rice, is still a huge influence in Brampton today. She has received awards for her philanthropy, including a lifetime achievement award – an amazing role model to look up to.”

Lindsay Rice will finish off her race season with her last race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on September 1-3rd. She will return to competition with the Canadian Touring Car Championship series in the GT Sport category.
